Project Title: Strengthening MESO and MICRO Organizations and Influencers’ Capacity for Communication and Collaboration to Effectively Promote and Advocate for Palestinian Rights in Lebanon.

 

  1. Background:

The Community Organization for Development and Empowerment-INITIATE is a Nongovernmental, nonprofit, youth-oriented organization based in Lebanon and dedicated to assisting vulnerable communities through youth inclusion and empowerment. While keeping youth at its focus of its mission, TCODE-INITIATE continually endeavors in creating comprehensive and inclusive programs aimed towards the empowerment of youth, and its concentric circles of influence.

In the process of delivering its Mission TCODE-INITIATE aspires to keeping its status as a hub for youth allowing them to: access a safe space, and acquire knowledge and access to a network of social and political influencers enhancing their social participation in decision making processes.

 

  1. Objective:

The consultant will conduct a comprehensive situational analysis to inform INITIATE’s understanding of the context and identify key areas for intervention. Utilizing the agency, structure, and culture approach to conflict analysis, the consultant will delve into the dynamics shaping communication and collaboration at the macro, meso, and micro levels.

 

  1. Responsibilities:

– Conduct a thorough situational analysis to identify structural, legal, social, and cultural factors influencing communication and collaboration in the Palestinian context.

– Employ the agency, structure, and culture approach to analyze conflict dynamics and resolution mechanisms, considering the roles of various stakeholders and influencers.

– Identify key actors, organizations, and influencers operating within the conflict landscape and assess their impact on advocacy for Palestinian rights.

– Develop a research paper outlining findings and providing recommendations for INITIATE’s future interventions, informed by conflict analysis methodology.

 

  1. Qualifications:

– Minimum 5 years of experience conducting situational analyses in conflict-affected areas, with expertise in conflict analysis methodologies, including agency, structure, and culture.

– Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex dynamics and identify leverage points for intervention.

– Excellent communication and report writing skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations.

– Familiarity with the Palestinian context and dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including understanding of macro, meso, and micro-level dynamics.

– Fluency in English and Arabic required.

 

  1. Duration:

The consultancy will commence on 4 months.

 

  1. Reporting:

The consultant will report to the Senior Project Manager at INITIATE, collaborating closely with the organization’s team to achieve project objectives.
