Project: Increasing Resilience of Crisis Affected Women and Girls in Tyre (Sour) through comprehensive Livelihood and Protection Services.

1.Objective: The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the community kitchen, ensuring that meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and to high standards. The project aims to improve food security and nutrition for crisis-affected vulnerable families in the Tyre area. The project aims to address the immediate and long-term needs of vulnerable families in Tyre-South Lebanon through a holistic approach that focuses on the safety, well-being, and empowerment of women and girls.

2. Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Plan menus in consultation with the nutritionist and Chef to meet nutritional requirements and preferences.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and facilities in good working order.
  • Coordinate closely with the project manager.
  • Coordinates closely with the operation and logistical team.
  • Attend project meetings as required.

3. Key Deliverables:

  • Efficient and safe operation of the community kitchen.
  • Compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Regular reports on kitchen operations and recommendations for improvement.
  • Regular support to the operation team.

4. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in any relevant field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a large-scale kitchen or catering setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage a team effectively.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.

5. Reporting

  • Report to the Project Coordinator.
  • Provide regular updates on kitchen operations and staff performance.

6. Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with the Chef Consultant, nutritionist, and other project staff.
  • Collaborate with the Chef Consultant to ensure meals are nutritious and meet dietary requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with the operation team.

Duration and Location:

  • Part-time position, a 8-month contract position based in Tyre, Lebanon.
