As the world witnessed lockdown measures to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, statistics showed a huge increase in the numbers of women and girls who are getting subjected to violence. In Lebanon, also, statistics in 2021 showed that the COVID-19 lockdown has increased in different forms of GBV because of the bad economic and political situation that Lebanon is facing lately, which forced the women and girls to subject to the violations and to lock down with their abuser. Despite that women and girls are still forced to fight for their rights but women are not taking back seats anymore waiting for solutions. Not just here, worldwide female nurses, vaccinators, doctors, pharmacists, lab experts are at the front line of healthcare and the backbone of covid19 response. So this year INITIATE decided to celebrate Women’s Day by showing her fighting for her wants.
في الوقت الذي شهد فيه إجراءات إغلاق للحد من جائحة COVID-19 ،أظهرت الإحصائيات زيادة هائلة في اعداد النساء والفتيات اللائي يتعرضن للعنف. في لبنان أيضًا ، اضهرت احصائات 2020أن الإغلاق COVID-19 قد ازداد بأشكال مختلفة من العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي بسبب الوضع السياسي و الاقتصادي
السيئ الذي يواجهه لبنان مؤخرًا,مما أجبر النساء والفتيات على الخضوع للانتهاكات والقفل
مع من يسيء إليهم. على الرغم من أن النساء والفتيات ما زلن مجبرات على الكفاح من أجل حقوقهن
إلا أن النساء لم يعدن يتراجعن عن المقاعد في انتظار الحلول.
ليس هنا فقط, فالممرضات والمُلقِّحات والأطباء والصيادلة وخبراء المختبرات فيجميع أنحاء العالم هم في مقدمة خدمات الرعاية الصحية كانوا العمود الفقري للاستجابة لفيروس كورونا.
لذلك قررت هذه السنة INITIATE الاحتفال بيوم المرأة من خلال إظهار نضالها من أجل رغباتها.
