Multipliers Empowered for Strategic Opportunities-MESO is a project implemented by INITIATE in partnership with the GIZ project; Strengthening the influence of Palestinian refugees on their living condition (PART)
This project aims to enhance the social participation of different marginalized groups, mainly from refugee camps and gathering. Youth and women will be empowered to engage in and lead the decision-making processes through establishing organization of the multiplier groups in the various localities, providing them with opportunities to influence local governance system and the host government and be enabled to contribute to information of public policies that have youth and women in mind. The most marginalized groups will then be able to advance pressing social issues, such as domestic violence, asymmetry of access, human rights violations, youth exclusion and discrimination, mainly against women, through carrying out public debates, town hall meetings and weekend solutions. This process will value the participation of women and encourage their active engagement in networks locally, nationally and internationally.
PART(MEO) is a GIZ program commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented in partnership with INITIATE.

INITIATE Is a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization that aims at working with communities in Lebanon. Furthermore, we aim to create an environment in which women and youth live in dignity and develop joint acting platforms among communities in Lebanon.
Initiate is looking to hire five field coordinators as part of 1001 nights project funded by the Regional Development and Protection Program. The coordinators will cover Bekaa (1), Beirut (1), Saida (1), North (1), and Tyre (1).
Main Tasks
- Support in the identification of partner organizations in the target area and in the outreach.
- Build a strong relationship with local partners and youth target groups and represent the project before the partners when required
- Act as focal point for partners and all partner NGOs, as well as other relevant stakeholders and municipalities;
- Support implementation of the project and assist in all necessary logistics, oversee and manage all field activities including placement, workshops, trainings, events, etc.
- Conduct regular visits to partner NGOs, Safe Spaces, or Public and Semi Public schools
- Monitor the implementation and progress in the field and ensure that activities implemented are in line with approved plans and agreed indicators
- Manage and coordinate local and field visits for project manager or any concerned parties;
- Coordinate meetings with different stakeholders (school authorities, students, parents and communities representatives, NGOs, representatives and any other relevant stakeholders)
- Establish and maintain networks with existing community structures and regional partners for referral and networking purposes
- Assess ongoing needs for capacity building among education staff, partners, teaching staff (beneficiaries) and discuss actions with PM in a timely manner
- Collect data, compile and update information in the field and prepare minutes of meetings and progress reports as requested
- Prepare/Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and Annual reports
- Any other task relevant to the position and agreed upon with the Education PM.
Minimum Requirements:
- EDUCATION DEGREE: Bachelor Degree
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
- English language is a plus

Initiate is looking to hire a Senior field coordinator as part of 1001 nights project funded by the Regional Development and Protection Program.
Main Tasks
- The Senior Field Coordinator will manage the implementation and coordination of the designated field projects, liaise with local partners to prioritize needs, develop concepts and activities to address information needs and essential service provision.
- Support the Programme Manager and programme team in planning and implementing project activities to meet project deliverables based on timeline and scope agreed with the donor;
- Provide day-to-day support and coordination, including administrative, financial and logistical support. Troubleshoot any administrative problems and report any challenges or bottlenecks to Programme Manager;
- Participate in team planning and coordination meetings and trainings;
- Support monitoring and evaluation efforts to document project outputs, outcomes, and impact to inform donor and other internal reporting;

- Oversee the delivery of agreed outputs and quality of the activities and work closely with the staff members to set and monitor objectives and work plans to ensure activities are implemented in accordance with overall project objectives
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all related documents
- Manage the performance of relevant field staff, set objectives, monitor work plans, and provide constructive feedback on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements:
- BA/S or equivalent in social science, management, economics, or other relevant field;
- At least three to five years of progressive experience in related field.

Logistics Assistant
1001 Nights Project - RDPP

The European Regional Development and Protection Program (RDPP) was launched in 2014 as a multi-donor European initiative combining humanitarian and development funds to support Lebanon. Its strategic objective is to ensure vulnerable communities access their rights, are safe, self-reliant.
Following phase I of the program which was implemented through 45 strategic and innovative partnerships in the region, a second phase of the RDPP has been initiated to run from October 2018 until December 2021. RDPP phase II is supported by the Czech Republic, Denmark, the European Union, Ireland and Switzerland.
The 1001 Nights life skills and Civic Education Program, developed by Big Bad Boo Studio, is a multi- platform educational entertainment program that uses cartoon to teach 7-12-year old children life skill and civic values, including non-violence, inclusion, human rights, democracy, gender equality and the rule of law, in formal and informal learning environments. It’s also used to provide children in conflict with PSS, to promote social cohesion in vulnerable communities and to build resilience amongst vulnerable children as a tool to prevent violent extremism.
- Purpose of the Employment
We are looking for a thorough and physically strong logistics Assistant to coordinate withsupervisor in receiving, packing, archiving, transporting and delivering goods and documents according to office and project’s needs.
The Logistics Assistant will be assessing the Procurement Officer in procurement process, completing relevant documentation and other office requirements like purchasing and maintenance. And undertaking tasks requiring journeys outside of the office, in addition to transporting team for field, meetings or workshops related to project’s activities.
- Responsibilities and Tasks:
The Logistic Assistant has to ensure and support the logistics activities of INITIATE projects and Programs in Lebanon.
- Procurements
- Collect and send invoices to appropriate department
- To supply items/materials according to the requests and orders from his supervisor.
- To use INITIATE procurement’s procedures according to procurement policy.
- To identify and select suppliers according to Procurement Officer recommendation.
- To order items if requested
- To control quality and quantity
- Manage the distribution plan for 1001-night project and make sure the curriculum reaches all the partners
- Manage the store of the materials.
- Support and manage the transportation plans
- Archiving
- To archive and centralize logistic files
- To gather archives from programs (with Supervisor support)
- To ship the archives, documents, materials, equipment or other stuff.
- Cars and transportation
- To ensure the good respect of INITIATE’s transportation procedures and vehicles maintenance.
- Check that the vehicle log books are in place and are used correctly Monitor the use of vehicles (consumption and mileage, damages, administrative documents)
- Provide items and materials from the supplier to the requester (including to the field if needed). Mostly for mission’s orders, could be done also for program if requested as a support from Project Manager.
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (pack, ship, deliver)
- Inventory
- To follow up assets inventory.
- Maintain an updated inventory.
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Report on equipment’s list periodically.
- Check physically the equipment periodically and update the related list.
- Draw up a list of needs and manage the stock of maintenance items and consumables.
- Look after all material of furniture on the office, carry out minor maintenance and repair work as well as improvements to office premises.
- Follow up the rents (office and store) and fees (internet, electricity, water…for office and flat) payments and follow up of the office/flat maintenance (repairs, paintings…)
- Coordination
- To link with the operation team, communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Participate and contribute to team meetings and workshops and provide support in relation to the projects implemented by INITIATE.

- Share security information with the team.

Specific responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations according to funding for the Projects.
- Implement internal processes and employee and learning objectives and initiatives set out in the annual Plan of Action;
- Ensure support function input is provided at project development stage, with the development of procurement and staffing plans to support the implementation of new projects in the area;
- Provide input for improvements/updates to existing policies and procedures and recommendations for new guidance and SOPs.
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, INITATE means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units, projects or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:
- Work closely with GENERAL DIRECTOR and Program Manager to ensure proper implementation of the day to day support function work;

- Background Information
Strengthening the influence of Palestinian refugees on their living conditions (PART)
The project is part of the Supporting Palestinian Refugees (SPR) Program that is implemented in Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon and the West Bank. It contributes to the Program's objective (to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees in the region) by the strengthen the influence of Palestinian refugees for improving their living conditions in a protracted violent conflict on individual and structural level
The project is based on the previous experiences of the project "Strengthening the Social Participation of Palestinian Refugees” (FASPAR)”, which was completed by February 2019, the SFF measure "Strengthening Psychosocial Support Structures for Palestinian Refugees" completed at the end of 2017 (PSSP) and the "Regional Social and Cultural Fund" completed in 2014.

The role of a program Manager is to act as coordinator for an organization’s projects.
The Program Manager supervise and organize activities and ensure that project goals align with the organization’s objectives.
- Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Managing staff and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the 1001 Nights project related to the management and implementation of the Project, including procurement, project monitoring and evaluation, progress reporting, leading staff of the 1001 Nights project.
- Overall supervision of project activities and arrange for public consultations as required.
- Participate and represent the organization in meetings.
- Draft Terms of References and management of local and foreign consultants, monitoring progress on deliverables under those contracts and providing feedback as necessary, and coordination of the work of the consultants consistent with the overall project implementation plan.
- Undertake external high-level communication.
- Prepare, or as appropriate supervise the preparation of, progress reports, annual reports, project completion report and other reports that may be required by the stakeholders.

- Supervise staff in the performance of their respective duties and ensure the efficient functioning of the unit and ensure that clear working arrangements are established for collaborating with financial, accounting and procurement matters.
- Participate in building and implementing the detailed concept and approaches as part of the overall framework and methodology of 1001 Nights project.
- Lead the development of work plans, workshops and periodical work sessions and meetings for the team members of the project to clarify the project's objective and methodology.
- Identify implementation arrangements and needed resources to implement the project and ensure proper management of funds, including accounting, financial control and audit procedures acceptable to the policies as well as the procurement of goods, works and services in accordance with the Community Organization for Development and Empowerment guidelines including submission of annual financial audit to the RDPP.
- The Project Manager will report directly to the General Director, which will facilitate resolution of any internal delays to implementation.
